Jenna Foster came to us with her sponsor Take Life Further apparel to make a hype video for social media. We took on the challenge of thinking differently about what fitness apparel content looks like by using our creative brain power to come up with unique concepts.
Jenna Foster is a long-time collaborator with Mikey Hardesty Film, and knew we could deliver something special. Of course, it started with a shot list and storyboard concepts. We wanted to show off four sets of workout clothes in the video, and so we came up with the idea to use a repeatable camera move to duplicate Jenna four separate times, then stitch them together in the edit. We also wanted to have a moving shot where clothes are rapidly changing mid-shot. With those challenges in mind, we shot listed and organized what that looked like logistically on set.
Matthew Perlinger was a major help on set, as he was the one organizing these comple visual effect shots and where Jenna needed to be, as well as what clothes set went where.
The shooting process was quick and easy because of this organization, and we were able to get in and out in a timely manner.
Matthew Perlinger also created a motion graphic effect for the video, animating the logo to draw itself in a cool glowing effect.
The visual effect shots worked super well, giving the video a high-intensity and hig rewatchability factor, as well as a perfect loop in the visuals and the audio to allow for the "endless loop effect" on TikTok and on Instagram.
